Component Glossary

We maintain a comprehensive glossary of Medical-Term components (Prefixes, Combining Forms and Suffixes) and their definitions. You can search this Glossary to find the meaning of a particular component, or to find a  component which is defined by a particular word or phrase.  

For example, if you were interested in knowing the definition of the combing form "cardi /o, you would do a Component Search and find that "Cardi /o" means "heart."

On the other hand, if you wanted to know what suffix to use for the phrase "pertaining to" you would do a Definition Search for the words "pertaining to" and find that there are 15 different suffixes which mean "pertaining to."
