Test Hints

At the end of each chapter, there is a chapter test. The purpose of the test is to evaluate your understanding of the material presented to you by the chapter. Like the exercises, you take the tests on your computer and the tests are graded by the computer. You may print the results of the test to help your understanding of the material presented.

Prior to taking the test, a Test Tips screen, similar to the one below, will display.

This screen offers a couple of tips prior to taking the test:

It suggests:

• that you practice with the flash card learning tools that are available with the course. This will help you prepare to take the test.
• When entering combining forms, do not leave a space between the root word. slash and vowel (eg: rhin/o)
• When entering prefixes, remember to enter the trailing - (e.g.: trans-)
• When entering suffixes, remember to enter the leading - (e.g.: -itis)
• When entering the component parts for a term, leave a space between the prefix and the combining form and the combining form and the suffix (e.g. sub- gastr/o -ic)

When you feel you are ready to take the test, click the "Next" button on the toolbar. This will cause the Chapter Test screen to be displayed.

Test Sections

Each chapter test is made up of several sections. There are two different types of questions, multiple choice and typed-answers.  Each section has only one type of question. The screen shown above is a typed-answer screen. You type in the answer in the space provided. The screen shown below is a multiple-choice screen.

IMPORTANT: Always use your TAB key to move out of the answer you just entered including the last answer in an exercise. This action records your answer so it can be displayed later

To answer a question on this type of screen, simply click on the down-arrow on the drop-down box and click on the correct answer.

When you complete a section of the test, click on the "Next Section" Button. When all the test sections have been taken, the "Next Section" button will become inactive and the "Check Answers" button will be activated.

You can return to previous sections of the test by clicking on the "Previous Section" button. 

When you feel that all your answers are correct, click the "Check Answers" button to submit your test for correction and grading.

Click the "Close" button to return to the Course screen without correcting and grading the test. You may return to the test section at any time and your answers will still be present.
